Saturday March 14th
7pm – 1am
The Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8EH
Support: Gillles Peterson, Little Dragon, Benji B, the bPm

To celebrate Gilles Peterson’s groundbreaking show on Radio One, he will be holding a number of live events throughout 2009. As a result of Q-Tip winning the Single of the Year at the recent Worldwide Awards, Gilles has invited him to play at the first of his WW10 events.

Q-Tip’s group “A Tribe Called Quest” are regarded as iconic pioneers of alternative Hip Hop music, and are considered to have helped pave the way for socially aware Hip Hop artists.

Allmusic refers to them as “the most intelligent artistic rap group during the 1990s.”

With “Vibrant Thing” and “Breathe and Stop” as part of his solo back catalogue, Q-Tip has worked with the likes of Erykah Badu, J Dilla, Common, Raphael Saadiq, Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, Busta Rhymes, The Roots, and Nas, as well as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and the Chemical Brothers. Q-Tip has become widely considered as “the most popular man in HipHop.”

This is his first UK live show in 10 years and follows the release of his new album “The Renaissance”, widely regarded as his best solo album yet.

The show includes a full live band and is a part of Q-Tip’s European Tour. Live support will be provided by Sweden’s Little Dragon and DJ support from Gilles Peterson, Benji B and the bPm.
